Teamsters Local 745 member Eddie Jackson is an employee at Rexam Beverage Can Company in Longview, TX. Eddie was wrongfully terminated in 2016, when the
company claimed that he no longer could do his job to the level the company would have him do.
Eddie has been an employee of Rexam for 43 years and also the chief steward for 35 years.
The Teamsters took the position that the company could not “remove “ someone from the light duty program unless they were cleared medically to do the more
of the strenuous work that a healthy employee is required to do.
After months of arbitration, Eddie won his case and the company now must pay back Mr. Jackson for all his lost wages and benefits. In total it was an award
of over 100k.
